Overview

Teaching Practice is considered an essential pillar of teacher preparation and training programs and compulsory courses, as it contributes to preparing the student/teacher in preparation for his practice of the teaching profession and providing him with the information, skills, values ​​and attitudes necessary for him in his performance as a future teacher. It includes a number of activities, some of which take place in the college and others. In the cooperating school, where he gets involved in the real classroom situation to play his role as a trainee teacher who implements a set of activities under the cooperative supervision between the college and the Department of Education administration.

Intended learning outcomes

- Giving the student teacher the opportunity to adapt to the school environment and its academic program, to watch real educational activities, to provide opportunities to interact with students, and to learn about their developmental characteristics in the context of different classroom situations.- Testing his own abilities in teaching and activating the skills of planning, implementation, communication and classroom management, while providing an opportunity for the cooperating teacher and technical supervisor to provide him with constructive feedback.- Forming positive attitudes towards the teaching profession and evaluating himself efficiently and objectively by identifying the aspects of strength and weakness in his teaching, which raises his level of self-confidence and directs him towards launching, armed with real sources of strength that he realizes in himself.

Teaching and learning methods

Supervising and directing the student teacher through a weekly meeting in the college and following up on the course of field training and the classes assigned to it in secondary schools.

Methods of assessments

Visiting and evaluating the performance of the student teacher for a number of classes in the secondary school, by the college supervisor at a rate of 90% and the school administration at a rate of 10%.
