Overview

Scientific and its characteristics - scientific research scientific research institutions. The researcher, his competence and scientific trends - variables in scientific research and their classifications). Scientific research scheme (preparation of research scheme - elements of research scheme - research sources). Scientific writing tools: (documenting scientific research data - using the library - searching for information sources by computer and Internet services. Methodology of writing in research papers - Methods of documentation in the text - Documentation at the end of the report). Types of educational research: (methodological foundations - cases in which it is used - types, (descriptive research - survey - case study. relational research - historical research - experimental research). Fundamentals of scientific writing: (skills of using the library - introducing the foundations of book classification - how to use references - critical speed reading skills. summarizing skills - writing skills in research papers). Data collection tools in educational research: Observation: (types - advantages and disadvantages of each of them - how to organize them and benefit from the data derived from them). Questionnaire: (Its advantages and disadvantages - how to prepare it and analyze its data - its application through a personal interview). - An applied study to introduce how to analyze textbooks.

Intended learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student should be able to:

1. Defines the concept of science and its objectives

2. Explains the concept of scientific thinking and its characteristics, scientific research and scientific research institutions.

3. The student should know the tasks of the researcher, his competence and scientific trends

4. The student should explain how to prepare the scientific research plan and research sources.

5. The student should explain the tools of scientific writing, how to use the library and search for information sources on computers and Internet services.

6. Determine the methodology of writing in research papers and types of educational research

7. Analyzes what is meant by the concept of science and its objectives.

8. Interprets the concept of scientific thinking and its characteristics, scientific research and scientific research institutions.

9. Discovers the tasks of the researcher, his competence and scientific trends.

10. Deduce the steps of preparing a research plan in his field of specialization.

11. Links scientific writing tools and research methodology

12. Propose a title for a scientific research and link it to its objectives and importance.

13. Employ his knowledge of the concept of science in his career

14. Employ his knowledge of the concept of scientific thinking, its characteristics and scientific research in the graduation research.

15. Write a report on the competencies of the scientific researcher and his tasks.

Teaching and learning methods

· Lecture

· The use of semi-internet in enhancing the content of the article.

· Participation and discussion of students during the lecture.

· Assigning students assignments.

Methods of assessments

The assessment of students in this course is distributed as follows:

(Semester 40% and final 60%)

Separation work: (40 degrees) divided between:

First written test of objective or short essay style tests (15 marks)

Second written test of objective or short essay style (15 marks)

Scientific activities (e.g. writing a report or making a presentation) (10 marks)

Final: Written exam (60 marks)
