Overview

Language course and code RA113: This course is offered to students in the first academic year of the Department of Arabic Language for two hours per week. In this course, the student studies the concept of language.

The course aims to:

- Recognizing the concept of language as a means of communication, its origin, and its linguistic system.

- Recognizing the nature of the relationship between language and aspects of human activity.

Examine the sources of protest among ancient Arab linguists.

The value of the study returns to the student:

A student must understand the concepts of language, linguistics, and their equivalent terms, as well as their translation.

- The student will be familiar with the efforts of ancient Arab linguists in the field of linguistics.

The student should know the development of linguistic studies in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

Intended learning outcomes

Mental skills:

Students should be able to apply research methods in language.

Comparing the different directions of modern linguistics.

To understand the basics of linguistics.

Practical and professional skills:

Acquiring the skill of linguistic analysis of verses and poetic texts at language levels.

Acquiring the skill of using modern technology in research and presentation.

-The student must be fluent in studying the language as a language so that the focus is not on a specific language.
