Overview

The course The Fundamentals of Arabic Writing, code RA131, is taught for two hours a week for students of the Department of Arabic Language in the first academic year. In this course, the student studies and applies the rules of Arabic spelling, in which there are many errors.

The course aims to:

- Recognizing the placement of some letters in the Arabic language, such as the hamza, the ta’a, and others.

The student should be able to write Arabic words.

Apply spelling rules.

The value of the study returns to the student:

It is imperative that the student knows the rules for writing the Hamza at its various locations.

The student must know how to write the T at the end of a word.

Intended learning outcomes

Mental skills:

- That the student applies the learned rules when writing

- That the student distinguishes between similar letters in writing.

- That the student realizes that the rules of Arabic writing differ from the rules of writing in other languages.

Practical and professional skills:

The student should be able to write functionally. This is because he can use the information he has collected during his study. He will be able to edit when he is editing the research and correspondence he needs while practicing his profession.

The student should write the Arabic letter correctly.

The student must be able to differentiate between the two hamzas as well as between the two thousand and other letters.
