Overview

Grammar Schools, code RA215: This course is taught to students of the Department of Arabic Language during their second academic year twice a week. In this course, the student studies the history of the emergence of grammar, morphology, and grammatical doctrines, and studies the translations of the most famous grammarians.

The course aims to:

- Knowledge of the history of the emergence of Arabic grammar.

Knowing the history of the establishment of the visual school and identifying its most prominent figures.

Know the history of the establishment of the Kufic school and identify its most prominent figures.

The value of the study returns to the student:

- Recognize the history of the emergence of Arabic grammar.

- That the student understands the meanings of the terms of the grammatical school - the visual school - the Kufic school.

- That the student knows something about the history of grammar and morphology.

Intended learning outcomes

Mental skills:

- That the student explains the aspects of convergence and difference between the schools of Basra and Kufa.

- That the student distinguishes between the flags of each school separately.

- That the student can do justice to the scholars and be impartial and objective in his judgment of them.

Practical and professional skills:

Acquiring the skill of reading heritage books.

Acquiring the skill of using modern technology in research and presentation.

- That the student is able to differentiate between grammar schools.
