Overview

This course introduces the concept of individual differences, types, and factors affecting individual differences amongst people with special needs. The course also outlines the extent to which individual differences relate to categories of persons with special needs.

Intended learning outcomes

By the end of the course, the students should be able to:

1. Appreciate the concept of individual differences

2. Realise the importance and goals of individual differences

3. Explain the factors influencing individual differences

4. Enumerate the types of research related to individual differences

5. Arrange the characteristics of individual differences according to their importance

6. Describe the differences between individuals and between the groups

7. Link differences between individuals and those between groups

8. Conclude the importance of studying individual differences

9. Learn the relationship between the factors affecting individual differences and how to deal with them

10. Provide reasoning for diversity in the methods of receiving information considering knowledge on individual differences

11. Classify the effects of individual differences on personality factors
