Overview

The fundamentals of animal life, with emphasis on anatomy, physiology, behavior, evolution and genetics with special reference to animal contributions to ecosystems and to humans. Live animals handled in compliance to with the rules of the institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, are used in the classroom and laboratory for instruction and to demonstrate ethical and appropriate care of living animals use for instructional purposes.

Intended learning outcomes

A.1

The student knows the branches of this science and what each branch means, understands the theories of cell development, and the terminology of this science, and connects the relationship between the inside and outside cellular processes.

A.2

The student understands the functions of cells according to the organelles included in their structure and describes the cellular tissue by studying the cell characteristics and functions.

A.3

The student describes the cell division stages and the most characteristics that differentiate each stage.

A.4

The student describes the processes involved in producing energy through food digestion, as well as how and where it takes place.
