Publication Guidelines for the Scientific Journal of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences
1. Requirements for Submitted Research:
Research must include a new or innovative scientific contribution in the field of sports sciences or related disciplines, provided that:
The research has not been previously published.
The research has not been evaluated or published in another journal.
Research should be written in Arabic or English, accompanied by an abstract not exceeding 250 words.
Research written in English must include an Arabic abstract, consisting of the title, part of the introduction, research objectives, main sections, sampling methods, and key measurements, tools, results, and recommendations.
The total number of pages of the research must not exceed 15, with a maximum of 20-24 lines per page. The font size for titles should be 12, and the rest of the text should be in 12-point Arabic Simplified.
Leave a margin of 4 cm at the top, 3 cm at the bottom, and 2.5 cm on both sides.
The research must include the following sections: introduction, research problem, objectives, hypotheses, review of previous studies, research procedures, results, conclusions, recommendations, and references.
Two printed copies on A4 paper and one electronic copy on a CD must be submitted to the journal office.
Research will be referred to a committee for evaluation, consisting of specialized professors in their fields.
The researcher is obliged to make any amendments suggested by the evaluation committee and submit a revised version on another CD.
The researcher has the right to appeal to the editorial board if dissatisfied with some of the suggested amendments.
Non-revised research will be excluded from the journal issue, and if necessary, it may be presented to the advisory committee. If not accepted, the researcher must comply with the required amendments for inclusion in the next issue.
Upon acceptance for publication with amendments, the researcher must complete the revisions within 10 days.
2. Review Committee:
The editorial board will conduct a preliminary evaluation of submitted research before referring it to reviewers with relevant expertise and distinguished academic status in the research field, using a list approved by Libyan universities.
The researcher will be notified of the review outcome within a week of the result reaching the editor-in-chief, while the editorial board retains a copy of the initial draft.
3. Journal Rights:
The editorial board has the right to conduct a preliminary examination of the research and decide its eligibility for review.
The editor-in-chief may inform the researcher that their research is not accepted for publication based on the reviewers’ opinions upon request, without disclosing their names.
If the researcher fails to make the required amendments within two weeks from the date of receiving the response from the journal manager, the research will be considered withdrawn unless there is a compelling excuse deemed valid by the editorial board.
The editorial board has the right to publish the research, whether in print or electronically.
If the editorial board finds that the researcher has published their work again, they have the right to prohibit future publications and notify the researcher’s institution.
Published research reflects only the opinion of its author, who bears the responsibility if the research is published elsewhere.
If the research does not comply with the required amendments from the reviewers, or if it is withdrawn before publication, the researcher will bear the costs of the review, mailing, and other expenses incurred by the editorial board.
