Abstract

The aim of the research is to identify some aspects of attention among football referees in the Western Region. For this purpose, the researcher used the descriptive approach using the survey method, as the research community included certified football referees in the Western Region, who numbered “220” referees during the 2023/2024 sports season, while a sample was selected. The search is as follows: “61” referees, divided into “5” international referees (29%), and “36” first-class referees (29%). (36%), And “20” second-class referees, at a rate of (20%). The “Borden-Anfimov” test was applied to measure the three aspects of attention: “acuity, constancy, and concentration.” The results showed that there was a statistically significant positive relationship between the attribute of acuity of attention and the category of international referees. There is also a statistically significant positive relationship between the characteristic of focusing attention and the international and first-class categories of referees. There is also no positive relationship between the aspects of attention (sharpness, stability, concentration) and the category of second-class referees, just as there is no relationship between the characteristic of acuity of attention and the categories of first- and second-class referees.
