The importance of using modern methods lies in improving the quality of education and activating the role of the teacher in motivating students and developing their skills. These methods help in achieving higher interactivity among learners and enhancing interaction between teacher and learner. They also contribute to expanding learning horizons and increasing opportunities for innovation and creativity among learners, which enhances positive results. In the learning and teaching process in general, the teacher’s competence and keeping up with modern teaching methods and methods are essential in educational situations. Especially since it aims to evaluate the planning, skills, knowledge and attitudes necessary to make the teacher capable of teaching in light of the capabilities and climate available in the educational environment. The aim of this research was to identify the extent of the efficiency of male and female physical education teachers in using modern teaching methods in the basic education stage in the municipality of Abu Salim. A random sample was selected from the research community, consisting of (70) male and female teachers. At a rate estimated at about 35% of the research community, one of the most important results of the research is that there are deficiencies in some aspects of the performance of male and female physical education teachers in using modern teaching methods, the most important of which is the applied aspect and that physical education teachers have training and knowledge of the theoretical aspect of modern teaching methods, and they have deficiencies.
