Abstract
The study aimed to develop a proposed training program using both types of interval training for football referees in Benghazi, and to find out the impact of the proposed training program using both types of interval training on improving some functional variables for football referees. The researchers used the experimental approach with a single group design to suit the nature and objectives of the research, to form a community The research included first- and second-class referees, who numbered (40) referees registered with the Libyan Football Association and the General Arbitration Committee. The researchers selected the sample intentionally from first- and second-class referees in the city of Benghazi, and their number was (20) referees for the 2018-2019 season. First-class referees (16) and second-class referees (4) referees, The most important results: The proposed training program using high- and low-intensity interval training achieved the expected “functional and physical” goals for the judges of the basic research sample. There are statistically significant differences between the pre- and post-measurement in the physical variables of “endurance - speed - speed endurance - agility - flexibility - and strength characterized by speed” in favor of the post-measurement. There are statistically significant differences between the pre- and post-measurement in the functional variables represented by “the force of exhaled air and the general functional efficiency of the body” in favor of the post-measurement.
