Omima Ahmed Al-Mahdawi is one of the staff members at the English Department, faculty of Languages. She is working as a full time lecturer since 2012. She has taught several subjects in her major like Applied Linguistics, Grammatical Structures, Contrastive Analysis, Academic Writing, Research Methods, Literature, phonetics, and Phonology. 

Careers

Omima worked as a collaborating lecturer in different colleges at the University of Tripoli such as the College of Medicine, College of Agriculture, and College of Education. Omima participated in designing the final assessment exams for several subjects taught at the Open University in Tripoli.

Research Interests

Omima Al-Mahdawi is interested in second language teaching and learning. She has conducted a number of research on teaching English as a second language. Omima has participated in various international language conferences and workshops and presented several papers in Libyan universities like Almergeb University, Sabrata University, and Omar Al-Moktar University.

External Activities

Over the past thirteen years, Omima has worked in several language centers around Tripoli. She has delivered numerous ESP as well as general language courses, and exam prep courses like B1 Preliminary, B2 First, TKT, and IELTS. In addition, she has presented teacher-training to a number of English language teachers and inspectors in a program coordinated and sponsored by the Libyan Ministry Education.
