Roles

Amna BENZAED is one of the staff members at the department of English, faculty of Arts, University of Tripoli . She is working as a lecturer since 2008-08-,Currently, she is an Assistant Professor. She teaches several subjects as follows: Translation Criticism , Audio visual Translation, Machine Translation, Translation & Orientalism, Translation Strategies. Also, she taught other subjects such as, Conversation, Reading Comprehension , History of Translation, Introduction to Translation Studies, History of Translation, Basics of Translation, Translating legal texts, translating Commercial Texts, Scientific & Medical translation ,Translation & Lexicology and Using Dictionary & Resources. She has several publications in the field of her interest.

Careers

Mrs. Amna was appointed as a coordinator of study and examinations in the Department of Tourism Studies and as a lecturer, then head of the English Language Department in the period 2009-2019, and a lecturer in the field of translation studies and has several publications in her field of specialization. She was part of the editorial board of the Journal of the Faculty of Arts 2010-2012.  She participated in the development of the department's curricula and supervised undergraduate graduation projects between 2010 and 2011, and was the head of the department's subcommittee for the distance education program, from 2013 to 2017 and is currently the coordinator of graduate studies in the English Department.  Before joining the university, she worked at the Higher Institute for Teacher Training and headed the English Department from 2002 to 2008. She supervised   the students during  the teaching practice in schools.   She supervised the courses of preparing and qualifying teachers to improve the teacher's performance in the English language.

Research Interests

Most of the publications focused on translation.

•       Consulting translator for different type of contacts (Arabic-English-Arabic) for oil companies. (2002 – 2008)
