Dr. Adel Omran Muhammad Zayed is a faculty member in the Department of History - Faculty of Arts - University of Tripoli, specializing in ancient history with the rank of associate professor. He held multiple positions in the Department of History and the College, including     coordinator of studies and examinations in the Department of History. He assumed the duties of the designated head of the History            Department in the fall semesters of 2015 AD and 2019 AD, a member of the scientific committee in the department, director of the Office of Study and Examinations at the Faculty of Arts - University of Tripoli, and a member of the committee for studies and examinations at the University of Tripoli ( 2018 AD - 2022 AD), and Chairman of the Postgraduate Studies Committee of the Department of History, Faculty of Arts - University of Tripoli

Careers

The beginning of his academic career at the university was in 1992 AD, and he obtained a bachelor’s degree in specialization with a very good general grade, first rank, in 1996 AD. His employment at the university goes back more than two decades, specifically to 5/7/2000 AD, when he held the position of teaching assistant in the Department of History - Faculty of Arts - University of Tripoli, and obtained a postgraduate diploma in history with a grade of very good, first rank, in 2001 AD, and was awarded a high degree of master’s degree. in ancient history on September 14, 2004 AD from the Department of History - Faculty of Arts - Tripoli, and was appointed as a faculty member in the Department of History with the rank of Assistant Lecturer on October 14, 2004 AD, and obtained a bachelor’s degree in history with an excellent grade from the Faculty of Arts, University of Damascus in 2004. 2012 AD, and rose through the career and academic ladder, obtaining the rank of lecturer on 10-8-2013, the rank of assistant professor on 12-1-2015 AD, and associate professor on 12-14-2019 AD.

He studied multiple subjects and courses at the bachelor’s degree level in the Department of History, including the history of ancient Morocco, the history of ancient Libya, the history of the Greeks and Romans, Hellenistic history, the history of ancient Arabs, and the history of the ancient East (Mesopotamia, the Nile Valley, and the Levant), in addition to teaching the history of civilization in the departments. Multiple members of the Faculty of Arts, and he is a permanent member of the Higher University in the Department of History - Faculty of Arts - University of Tripoli, a collaborator in Libyan universities, and a supervisor and member of the discussion of many scientific master’s and doctoral theses in the field of ancient history.

Research Interests

His research interests focus on the field of ancient history, including Phoenician-Carthaginian, Greek, Hellenistic, and Roman studies, as well as the countries of the ancient East and ancient Arab history. He has a group of published research, including:
