Research Assistant (Department of Life and Health Sciences) 

Working with bacteria (E. coli)

− Culturing E. coli strains and maintaining bacterial stocks.

− Selecting the appropriate E. coli strains

− Conducting assays and experimental data such as growth curve analysis of bacteria versus 

miRNAs

− Maintained strict aseptic techniques to prevent contamination.

Working with RNA and microRNA

− Conducting genetic sequencing experiments to analyse DNA and RNA samples.

− Performed miRNA profiling experiment using Reverse Transcription and Quantitative PCR 

(qPCR) techniques.

− Designed and executed experiments to investigate gene function and regulation.

− miRNA isolation and extraction from tissues e.g., hypothalamus

− Processed and analysed miRNA data, including normalization, statistical analysis, and 

interpretation of results.

− Adhered to safety protocols and maintained a clean and organized laboratory environment.

Working with mice in laboratory

− Collected data from mouse experiments, including physiological measurements, blood/tissue 

samples, and behavioural data.

− Maintaining mouse tissues such as: hypothalamus, ovaries and serum in their best conditions

− Hydrolysis of tissues using Precellys machine and kit

− Analysed data using statistical software to draw conclusions and make correlations.

− Ensured compliance with animal welfare regulations and ethics guidelines. 

− Collaborated with veterinarians, researchers, and laboratory team members on mouse￾related projects. 

− Contributed to the design and execution of experiments involving mice.

− Maintained records and documentation related to animal experiments.
