Bachelor in Medicine and general surgery

University of Tripoli - faculty of Medicine

Description

The Bachelor's Program in General Medicine and General Surgery is concerned with educating and training students and equipping them as doctors of general medicine and general surgery.

The program contains three phases. The first phase, or what is known as the general phase, teaches basic sciences related to human medicine, such as the study of biochemistry and microbiology.

The second stage is the clinical stage, in which clinical materials are studied inside the college and within the teaching hospitals in Tripoli, including the Central Medical Hospital, Hadaba Al-Khadra Hospital and other teaching hospitals, where the student deals with real medical cases.

The last stage is the internship stage, the stage of actual training in hospitals. Students are assigned to groups and distributed to educational hospitals to work under the supervision of doctors. Students are trained in all medical specialties available in educational hospitals. At this stage, the student can determine the specialization he desires.

Objectives

The study and scientific and clinical training at the College of Medicine aims to:

A- Preparing distinguished doctors who are able to provide health care in and outside health institutions in all parts of society, with great interest in primary health care.

b- Linking education to basic health needs so that the doctor is able to identify and confront the health problems of the community.

C- Building a partnership with research and educational institutions at the local, regional and global levels to develop the medical educational and research process.

D - Improving educational effectiveness by reviewing and developing medical education programs to match the vision and mission.

E - Developing the capabilities of faculty members to keep pace with the continuous development in medical education.

f- Developing and optimizing educational resources.

g- Adopting long-term continuous medical education strategies and continuous evaluation strategies for physicians.
