Physics Department Students Recognition Ceremony
In an atmosphere filled with appreciation and excellence, the Physics Department held a recognition ceremony yesterday, Thursday, June 4, 2026, honoring the students who contributed to the preparation and organization of the New Physics Students Forum for the Academic Year 2025/2026, which was held on April 15, 2026, at the Plasma Building of the Physics Department.
As part of the department’s commitment to supporting students and encouraging their creative initiatives, the ceremony was attended by:
- Prof. Mohammed Abdulaziz, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science
- Prof. Abdullah Al-Kalash, Head of the Physics Department
- Dr. Karima Mahmoud, Coordinator of Academic Affairs and Examinations
- Ms. Souad Bougrin, Coordinator of Community Service and Environmental Affairs
- Eng. Amal Al-Amin, Member of the Forum Organizing Committee
The department was also honored by the presence of Mr. Mohammed Ali Bougrin, General Manager of Bougrin Optical Company, the official sponsor of the forum.
Opening Remarks and Welcome Address
During the ceremony, the Coordinator of Academic Affairs and Examinations delivered the opening speech, welcoming the attendees and praising the efforts made to organize the event in an innovative manner that distinguished it from previous editions.
This was followed by remarks from the Vice Dean of the Faculty, who commended the success of the forum, welcomed collaboration with private-sector institutions, and encouraged further partnerships. He also praised the students’ dedication and commitment, noting that their efforts reflected a strong sense of belonging to the department.
Finally, the Head of the Department delivered an extensive speech expressing his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the forum through creative ideas and effective implementation, including both coordinators and students. He encouraged the continuation of such activities and emphasized the importance of providing students with opportunities to participate and contribute, as these initiatives foster positive energy, teamwork, and a stronger departmental identity.
Highlights of the Fourth Edition of the Forum
The fourth edition of the forum was distinguished by two key features:
1. Official Sponsorship Support
The support provided by the official sponsor demonstrated the important role of the private sector in strengthening cooperation between academic institutions and the labor market.
2. Active Student Involvement
Students played a significant role as members of the organizing committee, with most of the forum’s activities being designed and implemented by them under the supervision and guidance of the committee and its chairperson.
Recognition Ceremony and Closing Remarks
At the conclusion of this warm and celebratory gathering, special recognition was given to the forum’s sponsor. The Head of the Department and the Vice Dean presented a commemorative shield to Bougrin Optical Company, which was received by the company’s General Manager in appreciation of the company's generous sponsorship and its significant contribution to the success of the forum and the achievement of its objectives.
In return, the company’s General Manager thanked the department for its hospitality, expressed his pleasure at the success of the event, and welcomed future cooperation that would further strengthen the relationship between community institutions and the department.
A distinguished group of students was also honored in recognition of their exceptional efforts and innovative projects, which were highly appreciated by both officials and guests. They received commemorative gifts from the sponsoring company.
