He holds a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Sciences from the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Tripoli in 2000, a Master's degree from the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Tripoli, and a Ph.D. from the University of Southern Queensland (USQ), Australia. Dr. Abdal Hakim has been working at the University of Tripoli as a lecturer since 2014-11-05, and is currently an Assistant Professor in the field of soil fertility and fertilization. He also held the position of Director of the Training Office, Postgraduate Studies and Training Administration, University of Tripoli, from 2019 to 2020. He then held the position of Chairman of the Postgraduate Studies and Training Committee in the department from 2020 to 2022. Through the office, many scientific and cultural activities were held, including a scientific lecture on nitrates in pumpkins and watermelons between reality and shadowing. He also has many memberships in scientific societies specialized in the field of soil and fertilizers, including the International Fertilizer Association (Britain), the International Soil Science Association (Australia), and a member of the International Potato Research Association (Netherlands). He has many scientific publications in his field of specialization. His fields include organic agriculture (the role of organic agriculture in achieving sustainable development and soil conservation) - raising the efficiency of mineral and organic fertilizers (by following methods and techniques in the fields of addition and manufacturing) - the impact of the result of using organic and mineral fertilizers on the physical and chemical properties of the soil - in addition to studying the expected effects on the environment. He is currently working on linking the impact of agricultural activity and climate change by supervising some graduation projects for graduate students (master's) in the department. The project to study the emissions of nitrogen oxide and methane gases resulting from the addition of fresh animal waste to the soil is considered one of the most important current projects of Mr. Abdel Hakim, as the link is made between the emission rates of these gases and the quantities and awareness of animal waste added to the soil. He has many contributions through supervising scientific activities inside and outside the college, the most recent of which was as head of the preparatory committee for the first scientific conference on palm development, which was held on October 10, 2023 in the city of Hun/Jufra. In addition, he was head of the workshop on the radioactivity of potassium as a fertilizer, held at the Cornettini Hotel in Tripoli on August 4, 2024 to discuss Libyan Standard Specification No. 1106-2024.
Careers
Dr. Abdal Hakim joined the Faculty of Agriculture / University of Tripoli as a teaching assistant in 2002-2007, then he was appointed as an assistant lecturer in 2007-2010 to help teach the courses (Basics of Soil Science - Soil Fertility and Plant Nutrition). Then as a lecturer from 2014-2018, and currently holds the rank of Assistant Professor in the field of Soil Fertility and fertilization. He supervises the graduation projects of graduate students.
Research Interests
Dr. Abdal Hakim is a researcher in the field of soil fertility and fertilization. Most of his research and interests are in the field of organic fertilizer manufacturing and its relationship to improving the physical and chemical properties of soil, and environmental effects. He tries to link the applying of organic fertilizers and its relationship to environmental conservation and climate change, by studying the effect of application animal manure (fresh animal manure) on the emission and loss of nitrogen oxides, carbon oxides and methane gases.
External Activities
Dr. Abdal Hakim participated in the evaluation of many research papers published in the Libyan Journal of Agricultural Sciences issued by the Faculty of Agriculture - University of Tripoli, in addition to reviewing higher degree theses (Masters) as a confidential evaluator sometimes and as an internal examiner at other times. In addition to some contributions to the Journal of Agricultural Sciences issued by the Faculty of Agriculture Misurata or Omar Al-Mukhtar University.
