Asma Al-Najjar is a faculty member in the Soil and Water Department at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Tripoli. In addition to teaching undergraduate and graduate students through lectures and practical sessions, she has taught courses in the Faculties of Science, Agriculture, Medicine, Pharmacy, and the Biology Department of the Faculty of Education. She is participated in teaching university and graduate courses such as Biochemistry, General Microbiology, Soil Microbiology, Genetic Engineering, General Genetics, Pollution of Agricultural Soil, and Fundamentals of Soil Science.
Appointed as Coordinator of Graduate Studies at the Department of Soil and Water from 2013 to 2017, Director of the Office of Graduate Studies and Training from 2017 to 2021, and Head of the Department of Quality Asurance and performance assistance at the college from 2022 to the present.
Research Interests
Research focused mainly on the use of soil microbes in fertilization and environmental conservation, as well as the impact of chemical compounds on soil microbes. Also participated in research addressing bioactive compounds extracted from medicinal plants as antibiotics and on the role of bacteria in the degradation of industrial dyes.
