Roles
I have extensive academic experience in the field of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition, with a strong background in teaching, research, and academic service. Over the past years, I have taught several undergraduate courses, including Fundamentals of Soil Science, Soil Fertility and Plant Nutrition, and Soil Fertility and Fertilizers. In addition to delivering theoretical lectures, I have also conducted practical sessions in Soil Fertility and Plant Nutrition, which provided students with essential laboratory skills and hands-on experience in analyzing soil properties, assessing nutrient availability, and applying appropriate fertilization strategies. These teaching responsibilities have allowed me to combine theoretical foundations with practical applications, ensuring that students acquire both conceptual knowledge and technical skills that are essential in agricultural sciences. Beyond my teaching duties, I have served as the Coordinator of Special Studies within the department, where I was responsible for organizing, managing, and teaching the Special Studies course. This role required close interaction with students, supervision of individual projects, and guidance in academic writing and presentation. Through this work, I supported students in developing their independent research capacity, critical thinking skills, and ability to link soil science concepts with real-world agricultural problems. In terms of academic service, I am a member of the Technical and Formal Specifications Committee for reviewing Master’s theses at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Tripoli. In this capacity, I contribute to maintaining high academic standards by reviewing the structure, formatting, and methodological rigor of postgraduate research. I am also an Editorial Board Member and Reviewer for the Libyan Journal of Agricultural Sciences, published by the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Tripoli, where I evaluate submitted manuscripts and provide constructive feedback to ensure scientific quality and integrity. Moreover, I have supervised numerous undergraduate graduation projects in the Department of Soil and Water Sciences, guiding students through research design, data collection, analysis, and interpretation. My supervision has emphasized scientific accuracy, methodological soundness, and the practical application of knowledge to agricultural production and environmental management. Through these combined roles—as a lecturer, coordinator, supervisor, and reviewer—I have contributed to advancing the academic and professional development of students while promoting high standards of research and education in soil science and plant nutrition.
