Malak Refai is one of the staff members at the department of English. She is working as an assistant professor  since 2016-02-09. She teaches several subjects in her major such as conversation, grammar, composition and research Methodology. She supervised may graduation projects and has several publications in the field of her interest.

Careers

Before joining as a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Languages ​​at the University of Tripoli, Mrs. Malak Refai worked as an immediate interpreter at the Tax Authority and later as director of the International Cooperation Office at the Tax Authority. After her return from Malaysia, Mrs. Malak Refai received a number of tasks in addition to the main teaching task. She volunteered as part of a scientific team to prepare a course description for Composition. Creating and preparing a description and vocabulary for the preparatory semester course. She also worked as the Assistant Director of the Higher Studies Office at the English Language Department and then Assistant Director of the Faculty Affairs Office

Research Interests

Mrs. Malak’s passion for the field of sociolinguistics drives her to focus on the connection between language and society. She has writings on the influence of language in drawing an autocratic structure for English language speakers in Libyan society, as well as some writings on the political role of language in society, and others on linguistic features and differences between the groups of Libyan society and their impact on communication and understanding.

External Activities

Mrs. Malak does volunteer work for Al-Wafa Charitable Society to qualify housewives and widows by giving English language courses as part of the program for preparing nurses and paramedics.
