Abdulbasit Salem is a faculty member in the Department of Geography and Geographic Information Systems at the Faculty of Arts and Languages, University of Tripoli. He was appointed with a master's degree in Cartography in 2002 and obtained his PhD in Environmental Pollution in 2010. He served as the head of the Department of Geography and Geographic Information Systems from 2018 to 2022. Since 2020, he has been working at the University of Tripoli as an associate professor and also holds the position of coordinator for the natural aspect of graduate studies. He has numerous scientific publications in his field of specialisation.
Careers
He was appointed in 2002 as an assistant lecturer, then obtained his PhD in 2010, becoming a lecturer. In 2016, he was promoted to assistant professor, and he has held the position of associate professor since 2020.
Research Interests
Environmental pollution and climate change are among the core areas of interest, in addition to geological and morphological structures, as well as changes that occur due to natural conditions.
