Dr. Muhammad Al-Harari Abdel Salam Ali.. is one of the faculty members in the Department of History at the Faculty of Arts.. University of Tripoli, specializing in modern and contemporary history.Current academic degree: Ustad since 1/1/2023. He has many scientific publications in his field of specialization and international participation. He has also held many administrative positions in the field of higher education as well as in diplomatic work, where he served as the Libyan ambassador to the Republic of Sierra Leone from 2007 AD to 9/30/ 2011 AD.

Careers

After graduating from the Teachers’ Institute, he was appointed as a teacher on November 29, 1975 AD. He continued his university education at the College of Education, Department of History, and obtained a bachelor’s degree in 1983 AD. She obtained a postgraduate diploma in 1989, and was awarded a master’s degree from the Faculty of Arts, Mohammed V University, Rabat, in 1993. She obtained a master’s degree in administration and law from the National School of Administration in 1989, and obtained a state doctorate in modern and contemporary history in 2000, from the Faculty of Arts, Mohammedia, Hassan II University. He was appointed as a faculty member in the Department of History, Faculty of Arts, University of Tripoli, in 2002, with the rank of Assistant Lecturer. In 2006, he received the promotion of Lecturer, and in 2015, he obtained the rank of Assistant Professor. She has been an associate professor since 2018

Research Interests

His field of research interests in his precise field of specialization is the modern and contemporary history of Libya and Libyan and African relations. He has many research and books in his field of specialization, including: a book on the history of maritime jihad in Libya, a book on the writings of Moroccan travelers in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, and a book on the modern history of Libya.

External Activities

He participated in many foreign scientific activities and scientific conferences inside and outside Libya. He also held many positions in higher education, as well as in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as Libyan ambassador to Sierra Leone from 2007 to 2011.
