Dr. Hamza Al-Hadi Mohammed Tamtam is a faculty member at the College of Arts, University of Tripoli, where he serves as a researcher and lecturer in the Department of Islamic Studies with the rank of Assistant Professor. Dr. Hamza teaches a variety of Islamic subjects and supervises graduation projects, focusing on enhancing the quality of these research outputs. He has numerous published academic and research contributions and actively participates in postgraduate programs through teaching and supervision.In addition to his academic role, Dr. Hamza serves as the Quality Coordinator in his department and is involved in several university-level committees, including the University Ranking Improvement Committee, where he focuses on promoting academic standards. Dr. Hamza Tamtam began his academic career after graduating from the Faculty of Arts, Department of Islamic Studies at the University of Gharyan in 2005, where he worked as a lecturer at the same college.
In 2007, he obtained a Master’s degree in Qur'anic Miracles.
He continued working at the University of Gharyan until he earned his PhD in Sufism from the University of Birmingham in the UK in 2019.
In 2022, he received his second PhD in Jurisprudential Interpretation from the University of Ez-Zitouna in Tunisia.
Dr. Hamza joined the University of Tripoli, Faculty of Arts, Department of Islamic Studies in 2019, where he currently serves as a lecturer with the rank of Assistant Professor.
Research Interests
Dr. Hamza Tamtam’s research interests revolve around Sufism and jurisprudential interpretation. He is currently working on a research project aimed at addressing theological issues related to the Sufi understanding of the doctrine of the Seal of Saints, with a particular focus on the views of Ibn Arabi and Ibn Taymiyyah’s critiques of this belief.
Dr. Hamza has participated in several academic conferences, including:
- *Using Technology to Improve English Listening Skills for International Students*, Poster Conference, University of Birmingham, UK, 2014.
- He is also a member of the International Scientific Conference on The Literature of Disagreement Among Ahl al-Sunnah and Its Impact on Reconciliation in Libya.
Dr. Hamza has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals, in addition to authoring a book titled Qur’anic Miracles in the Studies of Malek Bin nabi, published by Aljabil al Gharbi University in 2012.
