Roles
I have taught the Biochemistry course to first-year students in the Faculty of Dentistry and prepared the course plans, lectures, and practical sessions. I have also participated in preparing examinations and assignments, assessing and marking students’ work, recording grades, monitoring students’ performance, and providing academic guidance. In addition, I have contributed to developing the course content and linking it to medical applications, while attending meetings and carrying out administrative duties within the department and faculty.
Careers
From 1 July 2026 to the present: Lecturer and faculty member in the Department of Periodontology and Oral Surgery, Faculty of Dentistry, University of Tripoli. I was appointed to contribute to teaching Biochemistry courses to first-year students. I have continued in the same position since the date of my appointment, with no changes to my job title or academic rank to date.
Research Interests
My research interests focus on medical biochemistry and its relationship to oral and dental health, including the roles of proteins, enzymes, metabolic pathways, oxidative stress, and inflammation in dental caries and periodontal diseases. I am also interested in cancer biology and molecular medicine, particularly breast cancer, the tumour microenvironment, and biomarkers, with the aim of improving diagnosis and identifying new therapeutic targets.
External Activities
I participate in a number of scientific and academic activities related to my field of specialisation by keeping up to date with recent research developments in medical biochemistry and cancer biology. I also work as a Visiting Researcher in the Cancer Therapeutics Department at the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom, where I participate in research activities related to cancer biology and molecular medicine.
