Dr. Sami Khalifa Hamdi is one of the staff members at the Department of Classroom –Teacher at the Faculty of Education, University of Tripoli. He has been working at the University of Tripoli as an assistant professor since 2018. During his academic career, in 1997, he obtained a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Sports Physiology) from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Tripoli.  In 2003, he attended the postgraduate studies in the field of physical education where he obtained a master's degree in health sciences (sports physiology) from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Tripoli. He fulfilled his academic career on February 24, 2015 by obtaining a doctorate degree in the philosophy of physical education in health sciences from the Faculty of Physical Education for Males, Alexandria University.

During his professional career, between 2005- 2007, Dr. Hamdi worked as a collaborating faculty member at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Department of Health Sciences, University of Tripoli. In 2008, he moved to work as an assistant lecturer in the Department of Classroom-Teacher at the Faculty of Education, Qasr Bin Ghashir, then, he promoted gradually till he obtained the Assistant Professor degree in 2018. During that period he held many administrative positions including the Head of the Department of Classroom -Teacher at the Faculty of Education Qasr Bin Ghashir twice; the first period was from 2008 to 2009 and the second one was from 2015 to 2016. In 2018, he was assigned as a member of the subcommittee to unify the curricula of the faculties of education at the University of Tripoli. In 2019, he moved to work in the department of a Classroom-Teacher at the Faculty of Education Tripoli where he was assigned as the coordinator of study and examinations from 2020 to 2021. On September 23, 2021 till now, he held the position of Dean of the Faculty of Education Tripoli. In 2022, he was assigned as a representative of the Main Committee of the Faculties of Education at the University of Tripoli and also, he was assigned as a member of the Advisory Committee on Graduate Studies at the University of Tripoli.

Research Interests

Research Interests

Dr. Sami Khalifa Hamdi has many scientific research interests especially that associated with his field of specialization. He participated in many scientific conferences, for example, the Fifth International Scientific Conference of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at University of Zawiya, 2018, the Second International Conference on Sciences and Techniques of Physical Activities in Tunisia in 2016, and the Scientific Educational and Psychological Conference at University of Damascus in 2009.  He published many research papers, the most important are, (The Relationship between the Risks of Obesity and the Practice of Life Skills among Some Female Students of a Classroom-Teacher in the Faculties of Education) , (Health Styles and Wrong Eating Habits Causing Diseases among Some Students of the Faculty of Education in Tripoli), (Assessing the Health Status of Children during the Meal Period from Kindergarten Teachers’ Point of View) and (The Role of School Principals in Directing Students towards Practicing Activities from Physical Education teachers point of view).

External Activities

Dr. Sami Khalifa Hamdi has many external non-academic activities and participation where he was assigned as a member in some committees’ work such as; a member of the Sports and Environment Committee of the Libyan Olympic Committee 2017, a supervisor of the training and rehabilitation course for the graduates of the Basic Sciences High School 2009, as well as a member of the sub-examinations committee for the secondary certificate in Tripoli 2018. In addition, he also participated in many workshops, seminars and courses where he got courses in administrative leadership, strengthening administrative skills, human development, and a course in physical therapy.
