Roles

Rabia Awedan is currently working as a Head of the Mathematics Department at the Faculty of Education, Tripoli, University of Tripoli. In addition, she is a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics since 2007. She is responsible for teaching some modules for undergraduate degree in BSc in mathematics. Throughout her teaching years, she has taught courses that have included: Principles of Statistics, Introduction to Statistics, Introduction to Probability, Mathematical Statistics, Biostatistics, and Commercial Statistics.

Careers

Rabia obtained her first degree in statistics from faculty of science, university of Tripoli (2000) and continued her master's degree in applied statistics in (2007). Her PhD was on modeling time series (2019). Before joining the university of Tripoli as a faculty member, Rabia worked as a teacher of statistics in intermediate education (2001-2007) and  an associate at the Higher Center for Administrative and Financial Professions - Tripoli (2008-2010). However, after joining the university of Tripoli, she worked as a coordinator for studies and exams in the Computer Department, College of Education 2008-2012, and as a coordinator for research and consulting in the Mathematics Department - College of Education 2021 to now. She is also a member of the Quality Committee of the Mathematics Department.

Research Interests

Rabia Awidan has research interests in statistics fields in general, she gained an extensive experience in statistical analysis, consulting and training. Therefore, her research interests focus on applied statistics, time series analysis, statistical modelling, statistical analysis, linear regression, and statistical programs such as SPSS, Minitab, EViews, and R.
