Essam Korban is a faculty member in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering. Mr. Essam Ali has been serving as an Assistant Professor at the University of Tripoli since December 1, 2008, and has numerous scientific publications in his field of expertise. Careers
Essam Korban began his professional career in civil engineering after obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Tripoli in 1986 with an excellent grade. He later earned a Master of Science in Structural Engineering from Newcastle University with distinction in 1997, and a Master of Philosophy in Structural Engineering, specializing in finite elements, also from Newcastle University.
Throughout his career, he has held numerous academic and administrative positions. He joined the University of Tripoli as a faculty member in the Structural Division in 2008 and continues to hold this position.
Research Interests
Essam Korban’s research interests primarily focus on structural analysis using finite elements and the development of improved models for analyzing structural systems such as cable structures and structural networks. He has published papers in this field, including the development of flexible finite element models for analyzing flexible cable structures.
Essam is also interested in the field of earthquakes and seismic risk analysis, having participated in research studying the impact of earthquakes on infrastructure in Libya. Additionally, his research interests include the application of advanced engineering software such as ETABS and SAP2000 in the design and analysis of structures, and the development of innovative engineering solutions for complex infrastructures.
Essam works closely with local and international research teams and participates in numerous scientific conferences to disseminate his research findings. He continues to supervise graduation projects in structural engineering, focusing on the use of analytical methods and advanced mathematical models to improve the performance of buildings, bridges, and large structures.
