Shada Elalem is a faculty member in the Chemical Engineering Department. She has been working there since May 1, 2009 as a teaching assistant, then after obtaining her master’s degree from the University of Colorado, she was appointed as an assistant lecturer in 2015. She was contributing for more than one research; she was promoted to lecturer degree at the same university. She teaches several subjects in her specialty, such as Chemical Engineering 1,2, Fluid Mechanics, gas processing, and unit operation lab.

Careers

She is working  after graduation immediately as a teacher assistance until she got a master degree from university of Colorado then she work as a lecturer on Tripoli University for different subject such as Introduction of chemical engineering, fluid mechanics, gas processing, material and energy balance and some experimental in unit operation Lab.

Research Interests

She is interested on the environmental study such as risk assessment and corrosion prevention to improve the productivity. Also, she is working on the gas processing technique by doing sensitive analysis and find the optimum point for utilizing natural gas.

External Activities

She is working on the environmental sustainable and related to chemical engineering. Due to the importance of environment issues and how it related directly to the climate change specially in Libya. Also she is focusing on the natural gas processing and its application starting form extracting the natural gas from well going through the multiple process unit such as dehydration, sweetening, liquification, compression, and ending with transportation. furthermore, she is working on the mass and energy balance for different applications and how that is very important on manufacturing of products.
