Dr. Mohamed Baqar's career spanned nearly 25 years and was filled with many important milestones. The beginning was with Ras Lanuf Oil and Gas Processing Company, namely the polyethylene plant, as an operations operator, and through it he was an operator of a control panel for the plant’s operational processes using one of the modern technologies in Libya at that time from the company (ABB DCS).

The second stop was through the academic journey in Libyan universities. He started as an assistant lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering at Azzaytuna University (formerly University of Nasser International) and followed to lecturer and then to assistant professor. Currently, Dr. Mohamed Baqar at the University of Tripoli, with the rank of Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, according to the transfer decision issued by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

During this journey, Dr. Mohamed Baqar teaches many scientific subjects, whether at the undergraduate or postgraduate levels. In addition to supervising many graduation projects and evaluating many scientific research submitted for publication and scientific research submitted for the purpose of promotion or admission to some scientific conferences. This previous diversity led to the acquisition of many skills that contributed to the success of Dr. Mohamed Baqar performs many of the tasks assigned to him.

*  He currently works as a faculty member at the University of Tripoli with the rank of Associate Professor since the date of his start in the Department of Chemical Engineering on November 2, 2024. 

*   He worked as a faculty member at the Faculty of Engineering at Azzaytuna University with the rank of associate professor in the period June 2023 - October 2024.

*   He worked as a member of the Scientific Committee at Azzaytuna University during the period September 2022 - August 2023.

*   He worked as head of the Petroleum Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering at Azzaytuna University in the period May 2017 - August 2018.

*   He worked as a faculty member at the Faculty of Engineering at Azzaytuna University with the rank of Assistant Professor in the period December 2016 - June 2023.

*   He worked as a faculty member at the Faculty of Engineering at Azzaytuna University with the rank of lecturer in the period January 2014 - December 2016.

*   He was sent to study in the United States of America to obtain a precise degree (PhD) in the field of chemical engineering in the period August 2008 - (Case Western Reserve University- Cleveland Ohio)

*   He worked as a faculty member at the Faculty of Engineering at Azzaytuna University with the rank of assistant lecturer in the period April 2007 - September 2008.

*   Operations specialist at Ras Lanuf Oil and Gas Processing Company in the polyethylene plant in the period from March 2006 - March 2007.

*   On-Job Training supervisor at Ras Lanuf Oil and Gas Processing Company in the polyethylene plant in the period from March 2005 - September 2007.

*   He was sent to study in the United Kingdom (Britain) to obtain a high degree (MSc) in the field of chemical engineering and Polymer Technology in the period from September 2003 - December 2004 . (Loughborough University)

*   Senior Operations Operator at Ras Lanuf Oil and Gas Processing Company in the Polyethylene Plant in the period from April 2000 - February 2005.

Research Interests

Dr. Mohamed Baqar’s interest in scientific research emerged to cover various fields of chemical engineering. Starting from the preparation of new polymers, especially those characterized by their high performance to suit applications in high and harsh temperature conditions. In addition, Dr. Mohamed Baqar's interest is phase equilibrium and thermodynamics, as well as studying the applications of nanotechnology in various engineering industries.

External Activities

Dr. Mohamed Baqar performed many tasks outside the teaching process, the most prominent of which were:

1. Member of the Scientific Committee for many conferences, the most prominent of which were: The First Scientific Conference in the Fields of Chemical, Petroleum and Gas Engineering (ICCPGE-2016) for the year 2016, which was supervised by the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at the Fift Colleges of Engineering at Al-Marqab University, the Sixth Conference for Engineering and Technical Sciences (CEST- 2024) for the year 2024, which was supervised by the Higher Institute of Science and Technology in Tarhuna....

2- Evaluating research submitted for publication in many local and international scientific journals, the most prominent of which are: Azzaytuna University Journal, Sebha University Journal, Asmariya Islamic University Journal, Misurata University Journal, ....

3- Evaluating research submitted for publication in many conferences, the most prominent of which were: the International Conference on Science and Technology, which is supervised by Sebha University, the Postgraduate Studies Conference, which is supervised by Sebha University,
