Dr. Abdunnaser Hamza Fadel is a faculty member in the Department of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Tripoli, and is responsible for the duties of the Quality Department Coordinator. In addition to teaching and supervising several graduation projects for a bachelor's degree and master's thesis. Dr. A. A. Fadel is a faculty member in the Department of Materials and Metallurgy Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Tripoli since October 2023. Mr.  Fadel main roles in his career can be summarized as follows:

March 1990 – December 1996, Researcher in the Department of Materials Technology/ Engineering Research Institute/ Tripoli, Libya.

December 1996 – September 2001, Head of the Mechanical Testing Department at the Central Research Laboratories/ Tripoli, Libya.

September 2001 – September 2003 Master's student in Materials and Metallurgy Engineering/ Department of Metallurgy Engineering/ Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, University of Belgrade, Yugoslavia.

September 2003 – December 2006 Head of the Department of Metallurgy and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), Central Research Laboratories/ Tripoli

December 2006 – July 2008 Assistant Lecturer at the University of Zawiya, Faculty of Natural Resources Engineering, University of Zawiya.

July 2008 – September 2013 PhD student at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Technology and Minerals, Department of Mineral Engineering,

September 2013 – 01/01/2015 Lecturer, Head of Department and Head of Scientific Committee, Faculty of Natural Resources Engineering, University of Zawiya

June 2022 – October 2023 Faculty member at the Department of Materials and Minerals Engineering, Faculty of Oil, Gas and Renewable Energy Engineering, University of Zawiya.

October 2023 to date He is a faculty member at the Department of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, and is responsible for the duties of the Quality Coordinator. In addition to supervising many graduation projects to obtain a bachelor's degree, Dr. A. Fadel also supervised master's theses at the Libyan Academy for Graduate Studies and as an external examiner for several other theses. He also participated in teaching master's students several courses at the same academy. At present, he is supervising a new master's thesis in the Department of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Tripoli.

Research Interests

Dr. A. Fadel is interested in the following scientific fields: Biomechanics of Materials, Testing of Composite and polymeric Materials, Failure and Fracture Analysis of Engineering Materials, Metals and Alloys Investigation by Optical Microscopy (OM) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Determination of Crystal Structure of Metals and Alloys by X-Ray Diffraction, Materials Testing and Quality Control by Destructive Testing (DT) and Non Destructive Testing (NDT), Formability of Metals and Alloys, Physics of Strength and Plasticity of Materials, Phase Transformation and TTT Diagram Determination.

External Activities

Dr. Abdul Naser Fadel contributed to the evaluation of multiple scientific papers for the purpose of publication and presentation in scientific journal and conferences and scientific promotions in his field of specialization. Also, he contributed to teaching many undergraduate and graduate courses in scientific institutions outside the University of Tripoli as a cooperating professor. He was also assigned as a supervisor of a master's thesis at the Academy of Graduate Studies, for the student named Aida Mohammed Rashid and the thesis was successfully defended on date 09/2/2023, as well as he was assigned as an external examiner for 3 master's theses, two at the Academy and the third in the Department of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Tripoli, (march 2023) and now he submitted a doctoral proposal for a graduate student at Zawiya University. On the other hand, and as a way of helping the Libyan society, Dr. Fadel presented a proposal for a Libyan student studying in Turkey named Yousef Abdalali Al ashhab (KARABUK University - Biomedical Engineering Department) under the title (The Effect of Amalgam Filling on Health and Using of Resin Composite Materials as an Alternative). This proposal was approved by the university. With regard to research activity Dr. Fadel, he has 26 scientific papers published in local and international journals, 76% of them as a first author and eight of those papers published in journals classified on Scopus, four of which have a high impact factor (Q1 + Q2) and the other four (Q3 + Q4), and for more details, hope to seen the social media links in here on Dr. Fadel personal page.
