Alia Qaroum is a faculty member in the Department of Software Engineering at the Faculty of Information Technology. She works as an Assistant Lecturer in the department. She joined the faculty in 2022. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering and Information Technology from the Electronic Technical College in Bani Walid, obtained in 2013, and a Master's degree in Computer Engineering from the same college, obtained in 2021. In addition to teaching specialized and general courses, she supervises graduation projects for students in the department and has been a member of the Graduation Project Evaluation Committee.

I have taught numerous scientific courses, both theoretically and practically, including C++ & C programming languages, computer graphics using OpenGL, web programming, databases, and many other subjects.

Research Interests

Among the key research areas that Ms. Alia Qaroum focuses on are Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Digital Image Processing, and Pattern Recognition, particularly in the field of Optical Character Recognition (OCR) for printed and handwritten text.

She presented a research paper on this topic at the 4th International Conference on Technical Sciences in 2021, titled "License Plate Recognition System using KNN Method" (CM5001).
