Roles

Professor Khadija Elboaishi has been a faculty member at the Faculty of Law, Department of Public Law, since 2015. Throughout her academic career, she has taught various courses related to international law in both the semester and yearly systems. These courses include Public International Law, International Human Rights Law, International Relations, International Law of the Sea, and Introduction to Legal Sciences.

Careers

Professor Khadija Elboaishi obtained her Bachelor's degree in Law with First-Class Honors from the Faculty of Law, University of Tripoli, in 2010. She then pursued postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Law, University of Tripoli, Department of International Law, where she completed the preparatory year in the academic year 2010. She was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in International Law in 2011 with an Excellent grade.

Subsequently, she earned her Master’s degree in International Law and Human Rights from the Department of International Law at Keele University in the United Kingdom in 2015.

Professor Khadija has been serving as a faculty member at the prestigious Faculty of Law, University of Tripoli, since 2015.

Research Interests

Professor Khadija Elboaishi has diverse research interests in the fields of international law and human rights, with a particular focus on issues of good governance and sustainable development. Her research includes studying the relationship between international law and the protection of human rights, especially regarding women's rights and the integration of gender perspectives into legal policies. She is also interested in topics related to transitional justice, security sector reform, and the role of international law in promoting peace and conflict resolution. Additionally, her research explores artificial intelligence and international responsibility under international law.

External Activities

1. Trainer in the first and second training sessions on Libyan youth participation and its role in conflict analysis and peacebuilding, organized by the 180 Organization for Awareness and Development in Tripoli, with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), from January 26-31, 2019.

2. Member of the Libyan delegation at the Seventh Conference of the Arab Women Organization (Arab League) on Women's Economic Empowerment, Peace, Justice, and Citizenship, held in Muscat, Oman, from December 18-19, 2018.

3. Libyan representative at the Omani-Arab Dialogue, sponsored by the Arab Women Organization, held in Muscat, Oman, on December 16, 2018.

4. Libyan representative at the Sixth Meeting of the Permanent Advisory Committee on Arab Youth (Arab Women Organization) in Muscat, Oman, on December 15, 2018.

5. Project Manager of the "Stand and Speak Out Against Violence Against Women" initiative, a partnership between the Haqi Organization for Libyan Women and Atwar Organization for Social Research and Development in Tripoli, from November 25 to December 11, 2018.

6. Member of the Middle East and North Africa expert committee evaluating submissions for the 2018 New Shape Prize, with the Global Challenges Foundation.

7. Trainer in a course on International Humanitarian Law at the International Humanitarian Law Center in Tripoli, from November 3-8, 2018.

8. Trainer in a course on the role of the judiciary in security sector reform, in collaboration with the Libyan International Foundation for Human Rights, in Tripoli, Libya, from October 23-27, 2018.

9. Member of the Libyan civil society delegation for the Dialogue Programme with the European Parliament, invited by the European Parliament and Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, in Belgium, from May 13-15, 2018.

10. Coordinator and trainer of the first mock trial competition before the International Criminal Court at the Faculty of Law, University of Tripoli, in collaboration with the University of Tripoli, Lawyers for Justice in Libya, and the Canadian Embassy, held from March 5 to April 23, 2018.

11. Participant in the "Libyan Legislation and Gender Perspectives" conference in Tunisia, from April 13-14, 2018, invited by the Women's Empowerment Unit of UNSMIL.
