Dr. Qarira Zarqoun is one of the faculty members in the Arabic Language Department at the College of Arts, Tripoli. Mr. Qurera has been working at the University of Tripoli as a professor since 02/09/2015 and has many scientific publications in his field of specialization.He headed the Arabic Language Department at the Faculty of Arts at the University of Tripoli. He held the position of Director General of the Cultural Centers Department at the Ministry of Culture and Information. He worked as a cultural advisor at the Arabic Language Center in the Republic of Malta.Since obtaining his doctorate, he now works as a professor of Arabic literature at the University of Tripoli.  He also proposed the popular literature subject in the Arabic Language Department, and after some discussion, the department was convinced to adopt the subject, and since 2012 AD the subject has become one of the basic subjects that students must study in the department, and he took over teaching it.

Careers

He obtained a BA in Arabic Language and Islamic Studies, from the College of Education, at the University of Tripoli, for the academic year 1986/1987. He obtained a postgraduate diploma at Ain Shams University in Cairo for the academic year 1991/1992. He obtained a master's degree from Hassan II University, Faculty of Arts, Casablanca, on 1/19/1996. He obtained a state doctorate from the Faculty of Arts at Abdelmalek Saadi University in Tetouan, Morocco, on November 20, 2000. Since 1987, he was appointed as a teaching assistant at the University of Tripoli, and was promoted until he reached the rank of professor. He headed the Arabic Language Department at the Faculty of Arts at the University of Tripoli.

External Activities

He held the position of Director General of the Cultural Centers Department at the Ministry of Culture and Information. He worked as a cultural advisor at the Arabic Language Center in the Republic of Malta.

He served as editor-in-chief of Desert Sunshine magazine, which was issued by the Sirte Municipality Popular Conference. He worked as an editor in the news and political affairs department of Jamahiriya Radio in Tripoli

He assumed the secretariat of the Jamahiriya Students Union in Morocco. He assumed the presidency of the Confederation of the All-African Students Union. He assumed the position of Vice President of the General Book Authority.

He participated in several scientific activities in: Spain: About the poet Ibn Zaydun. France: About the poets Ahmed Shawqi and Alphonsol Martin. Kuwait: About the opening of Al-Babtain Library, and the issuance of Al-Babtain Dictionary of Arabic Poets. As well as in Bosnia, Morocco and Egypt
