Roles
Ehmeid Khalifa has been a faculty member in the Department of Family and Community Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Tripoli, since 2015. He has published numerous scientific papers in his field of specialization. In 2016, he was appointed by a decision of the University President to manage the university clinic, a position he held until the end of 2019. In October 2024, he was appointed by a decision of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine to serve as Coordinator of Studies and Examinations for the Department of Family Medicine, covering both the clinical and pre-clinical phases. He also served as Coordinator of Community Medicine 1 for the academic year 2021–2022, following an assignment from the Head of the Department of Family Medicine.
Careers
He began working as a collaborator in the Department of Family and Community Medicine in early 2014 and was appointed to the rank of Assistant Lecturer in 2015. He advanced in his career and was promoted to Lecturer in 2021. In March 2025, he achieved the rank of Assistant Professor.
Research Interests
His work on epidemics, primarily tuberculosis control, includes conducting field surveys to detect cases of active or latent tuberculosis, and applying appropriate screening methods for patients with latent infection, whether they are contacts or foreigners of African origin. His duties also include supervising the research projects of interns during their training in the Department of Family and Community Medicine.
External Activities
From 2016 to 2019, he was assigned by a decision of the University President to manage the University Clinic at the University of Tripoli, in addition to his role as a lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine. His main responsibilities included organizing and distributing workflow among medical and paramedical staff, overseeing the opening of the radiology department, and equipping the physiotherapy department. He was also responsible for managing the clinic’s stores, pharmacy, laboratories, examination clinics, and the oral and dental medicine unit.
