Osama Salem Al-Suwaih practiced as a pediatrician in the Neonatal Unit. He joined the Department of Histology and Genetics at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tripoli, on May 11, 2025, as a full-time faculty member with the rank of Assistant Lecturer. He had worked as a teaching assistant in the same department for years before joining the faculty. Dr. Osama Al-Suwaih performs several duties in the department, including teaching the course (Histology and Medical Genetics) to undergraduate students at the Faculty of Medicine, as well as organizing and supervising examinations within the department.

Careers

• On May 11, 2025, he was appointed as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Histology and Genetics, Faculty of Medicine, University of Tripoli.
• On December 30, 2024, he obtained a Master's degree in Medical Genetics from the Department of Histology and Genetics, Faculty of Medicine, University of Tripoli.
• On January 17, 2012, he was appointed as a teaching assistant in the Department of Histology and Genetics, Faculty of Medicine, University of Tripoli.
• March 2009, he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tripoli.

Research Interests

Through his work as a pediatrician, Dr. Osama Al-Suwaih demonstrates an interest in research into genetic diseases and metabolic disorders in children in general, and in following up on the genetic tests necessary to diagnose such cases.

External Activities

Dr. Osama Al-Suwaih has worked in pediatrics in general, and neonatology in particular, for over 10 years, working in several hospitals since 2009. He is the head of the neonatology department at one hospital.
