Tasks

As a faculty member with the rank of Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Tripoli, I have a range of academic, educational, clinical, research and administrative tasks, which contribute to achieving the goals of the department and the college and raising the quality of medical education and health services.

First: Medical Teaching and Education: I participate in teaching courses for medical students specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology, preparing and delivering lectures and theoretical lessons, participating in case-based learning and scientific discussions, and updating educational content in accordance with modern developments and approved scientific references. I also contribute to the development and implementation of curricula and course syllabi and the evaluation of the achievement of learning outcomes.

Second: Clinical Training: I supervise the clinical training of students and resident physicians in teaching hospitals, clinics, and obstetrics and gynecology departments. I train them on taking medical histories, conducting clinical examinations, diagnosing cases, and developing treatment plans, in addition to training on basic clinical skills and obstetrics and gynecology procedures, with an emphasis on patient safety and medical practice ethics.

Third: Examinations and Evaluation: I also participate in preparing theoretical, clinical, oral and practical questions and examinations, preparing OSCE and OSPE stations when needed, and participating in examination, correction and discussion committees and evaluating the performance of students and trainees according to objective and fair standards.

Fourth: Laboratories and Skills Labs: I participate in organizing and supervising clinical skills labs and practical education, training students on basic skills in examination, diagnosis and dealing with emergency cases, and contributing to the development of training scenarios and practical assessment tools.

Fifth: Graduate Studies: I also participate in the graduate studies programs in the department, including teaching courses, academic and scientific supervision of graduate students, participating in the supervision of master’s theses, discussing research and scientific papers, evaluating the level of students and following up on their academic and research progress.

Sixth: Scientific Research: I conduct scientific research in the fields of gynecology and obstetrics, publish the results in peer-reviewed scientific journals, supervise graduate student research, participate in conferences, seminars and scientific activities, and encourage applied research that contributes to improving the quality of healthcare.

Seventh: Administrative tasks and academic development: I also participate in department meetings and scientific and academic committees, contribute to developing educational plans, curricula, quality assurance and academic accreditation, participate in organizing conferences, scientific days and training courses, and cooperate with faculty members in developing the academic, clinical and research performance of the department.

As a faculty member, I am committed to academic, professional and ethical standards, patient confidentiality, patient safety, the rights of students and trainees, teamwork, and adherence to the regulations and decisions governing work at the University of Tripoli, the Faculty of Medicine and the scientific department

My academic and professional career at the university began with joining the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Faculty of Medicine, where I participated in the educational process and clinical training of medical students and resident physicians. I progressed through the academic ranks according to the established regulations, starting as a teaching assistant, then a lecturer, then promoted to assistant professor, and finally to associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology.

During my academic career, I participated in teaching theoretical and practical courses, supervising clinical training for students in teaching hospitals, participating in the preparation and implementation of written, oral and clinical examinations, in addition to supervising skills laboratories and practical training.

She also contributed to the department’s postgraduate programs by teaching resident physicians and postgraduate students, supervising and participating in discussions of research and theses, and participating in examination and academic evaluation committees.

On a professional and research level, I participated in the preparation and implementation of scientific research and the publication of academic studies, and in participating in scientific conferences, seminars and workshops, in addition to contributing to the development of curricula and educational programs and improving the quality of medical training.

She also undertook administrative and academic tasks within the department and college, participated in scientific and academic committees, quality and examination committees, and cooperated with faculty members in organizing the educational and training process.

Through this career progression, I reflect a gradual development in my academic, educational, research, and administrative responsibilities, culminating in the rank of Associate Professor, while continuing to contribute to the development of medical education, clinical training, scientific research, and service to the university and the community

Research Interests

Research interest 

My research interests are primarily focused in the areas of gynecology and obstetrics, gynecological urology, gynecological laparoscopic surgery, and medical education, with a particular interest in conducting clinical research that contributes to the development of medical practice and the improvement of the quality of evidence-based healthcare.

In the field of obstetrics and gynecology, my research interests include studying common and complex problems that women face during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum, in addition to research on women’s health and various gynecological diseases, pregnancy complications, and ways to improve diagnosis, treatment and health outcomes for mothers and newborns.

I am also interested in the field of gynecological laparoscopic surgery, including the evaluation and development of minimally invasive surgical techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of gynecological diseases, the study of the outcomes of laparoscopic surgery compared to traditional surgery, the indications and contraindications for laparoscopy, its complications, and ways to improve surgical safety and reduce hospital stay and recovery time. My research interests also include the use of laparoscopy in cases of ovarian, uterine, and pelvic diseases, infertility surgeries, and complex gynecological conditions.

In the field of female urology, I am interested in research on pelvic floor disorders, urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, urinary disorders, and pelvic organ prolapse, with an interest in using modern assessment methods such as urodynamics and studying the effectiveness of different treatment options and their impact on the quality of life of patients.

Medical education is an important focus of my research interests, particularly the development of teaching methods and clinical training, skills-based and simulation-based education, the development of assessment and examination methods, especially the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE), and the study of the effectiveness of modern teaching strategies.

Through these interests, I seek to conduct systematically high-quality clinical and educational research, publish its results in peer-reviewed scientific journals, contribute to the development of medical practice, education and clinical training, and encourage postgraduate students and young doctors to conduct applied research that serves the specialties of women and obstetrics, laparoscopic surgery, gynecological urology, and medical education.

External Activities

Outdoor activities 

My external activities encompass a range of academic, scientific, and professional pursuits aimed at fostering scientific collaboration, exchanging expertise, and contributing to the advancement of medical education and training in obstetrics and gynecology and related specialties. I am committed to participating in local and international conferences, seminars, workshops, and scientific training courses, and to staying abreast of the latest developments in clinical and surgical practice and medical education.

I also participate in scientific activities related to obstetrics and gynecology, including attending and organizing scientific days, conferences, and training programs; contributing to lectures and scientific discussions; and participating in activities related to clinical training and developing the skills of physicians and medical students. I am particularly interested in activities related to gynecological laparoscopic surgery, gynecological urology, and developing clinical examination and assessment skills.

My external activities also include participating in the preparation and development of training programs and clinical examinations, contributing to the organization of the Organised Objective Clinical Examination (OSCE) stations, evaluating trainees and postgraduate students, and participating in scientific and examination committees whenever the need arises.

I am also committed to building scientific and professional relationships with faculty members, physicians, and researchers both within and outside Libya, which contributes to the exchange of expertise and encourages research and academic collaboration. I am keen to participate in activities that support scientific research, through discussing research projects, mentoring researchers and graduate students, and contributing to the dissemination of modern medical knowledge.

My vision is for external activities to be an extension of the academic and professional role within the university, and to contribute to the development of medical competencies, enhance the quality of education and training, and encourage scientific research and academic cooperation, in a way that serves the patient and society and raises the level of practice in the specialty of obstetrics and gynecology
