Lecturer at ophthalmology department in Tripoli University :
I started in 2001 as a teaching assistant until 2006 When I completed the residency in Tripoli eye hospital and passed and fulfilled all the requirements of the Libyan board certification to change my post to a teaching staff member (Lecturer)
In addition to the bed side (clinical teaching) particularly the pediatric ophthalmology (Congenital cataract, congenital glaucoma, congenital ptosis, Retinopathy of prematurity, Nystagmus and other related pediatric eye diseases) and strabismus cases, I am also responsible for lecturing the fourth year medical students and helping them reviewing they have learned from my other colleagues in the department.
Beside teaching medical students, I am also responsible for following the newly graduated medical students during their internships in Tripoli eye hospital and other teaching hospital in the field of ophthalmology.

- 2002-2006: Demonstrator in Ophthalmology and teaching assistant at Ophthalmolgy department of Tripoli University Medical College, Tripoli, Libya
- 2006-2007: Lecturer in Ophthalmology department at Tripoli university medical college, Tripoli, Libya
- 2009-2010: Pediatric Ophthalmolgy fellow and Clinical instructor in ophthalmology at Jules Stein eye institute, UCLA
- 2013-2018 Lecturer and head of Ophthalmology department at Omar Almokhtar university, Derna branch.,
- 2019- now, Returned to Tripoli eye hospital as the Director of pediatric ophthalmology and Strabismus services in Tripoli university hospital, and the Vice director of TEH postgraduate training program and Human resources development as well.
- 2024 Lecturer ophthalmology department, medical school at Tripoli eye hospital .. pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus section.
Research Interests
- Lateral rectus muscle Heterotopy in Exotropic Duane syndrome
- pediatric eye trauma
- Surgical management of high AC/A ratio in partially accommodating ET
- Heavy eye syndrome (Extraocular muscle Heterotopy in high axial myopia)
- Inferior oblique muscle overaction as an additional cause of amblyopia in Accommodative Esotropia.
External Activities
2023 until now: Member (Co-Direcor) of the ophthalmology training program committee in Libyan board/ council for medical specialties.
2013-2019: Director of skills transfer training program in Libyan board of ophthalmology, and the coordinator of Tripoli eye hospital CME program
2019 until now:
Director of pediatric ophthalmology and Strabismus services in Tripoli eye hospital, and the Vice director of TEH postgraduate training program and Human resources development as well.
