  1. Epidemiology of Parasitic and Vector-Borne Diseases
    • Conducting epidemiological investigations and surveys to understand the transmission dynamics of parasitic and vector-borne diseases, with a special focus on cutaneous leishmaniasis.
    • Examining biological, ecological, and environmental factors influencing disease spread and persistence.
  2. Disease Prevention and Control Strategies
    • Developing evidence-based preventive measures and rational control methods to mitigate the impact of parasitic and vector-borne diseases.
    • Designing and evaluating interventions targeting vectors (e.g., sand flies) and reservoir hosts (e.g., rodents) to disrupt transmission cycles.
  3. Advanced Diagnostic Techniques
    • Improving laboratory diagnostics for parasitic infections through molecular approaches (e.g., PCR, genomic sequencing).
    • Enhancing surveillance systems by integrating modern tools for early detection and monitoring of emerging/re-emerging pathogens.

    • Strengthening national and regional disease control programs (e.g., National Control Programme of Leishmaniasis in Libya).
    • Contributing to One Health initiatives that bridge human, animal, and environmental health for zoonotic disease management.
