Teaching activities
· Teaching courses for undergraduate medical students e.g. (Medical Parasitology, Control of Public Health pests, Research Methods & data analysis, Epidemiology, Environmental Health, General Zoology), and for postgraduate medical and biomedical students e.g. (Advanced Medical Parasitology, Vector Borne Diseases, and Advanced Laboratory Techniques.
· I also taught courses like Immunology, Infectious Diseases, and Life Style & Health for students of Access to HE Diploma during my work at Manchester City College, UK.
· Acted as external examiner in several occasions for various universities and medical schools.
· Supervised several PhD and MSc projects: 1 PhD and 15 MSc projects have so far been completed successfully.
· Contributed significantly in reviewing and developing the new curriculum (meets international quality requirements) for the Public Health Department at Tripoli University.
Research interests
· Focusing mainly on conducting epidemiological investigations and surveys on parasitic & vector borne diseases with special interest in examining different biological & ecological aspects and factors affecting the transmission and spread of these diseases.
· Working on developing proper preventive measures and rational control methods to be implemented efficiently to reduce populations of vectors and reservoirs of parasitic and vector borne diseases in general with special interest in leishmaniasis.
· Improving laboratory diagnostic techniques using molecular approaches to detect parasites and vectors of diseases.
