Careers

I have served as an adjunct faculty member since 2005 and transitioned to a full-time faculty member in 2013 as an Assistant Lecturer. Additionally, I occupied the role of Head of the Department of Physiotherapy at the College between 2016 and 2018, and received a promotion to Lecturer in 2021.

Research Interests

My keen interest in academic research, particularly in the fields of sports injury and physiotherapy education, stems from a profound passion for enhancing athletic performance and promoting recovery. As an aspiring researcher, I am motivated by the critical role that effective physiotherapy plays in the rehabilitation of sports injuries. Understanding the intricate relationship between injury prevention, treatment methodologies, and educational practices is essential for advancing the field.

Sports injuries are prevalent across all levels of athletic participation, and the implications of these injuries extend beyond the physical. They can impact an athlete's mental well-being, performance, and overall quality of life. Through academic research, I aim to explore innovative rehabilitation techniques, evidence-based practices, and the integration of technology in physiotherapy. This exploration is crucial for developing comprehensive treatment plans that not only address immediate injuries but also facilitate long-term health and performance.

Furthermore, I am particularly interested in the educational aspect of physiotherapy. Quality education in this field is vital for preparing future practitioners who will be on the front lines of injury management. I believe that research into effective teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and the incorporation of hands-on experiences can significantly enhance the learning outcomes for students. By investigating these areas, I hope to contribute to the creation of a more robust educational framework that better equips future physiotherapists to meet the evolving demands of the sports industry.

Ultimately, my commitment to academic research in sports injury and physiotherapy education is driven by a desire to improve outcomes for athletes and foster a deeper understanding of the mechanisms behind injury and rehabilitation. Through collaborative research efforts, I aspire to make meaningful contributions that will benefit both practitioners and the athletes they serve.
