Roles
Since 2002, I have had the privilege of serving as a faculty member at the Faculty of Medical Technology at the University of Tripoli, where I hold the rank of Assistant Professor. This role has allowed me to engage deeply in both teaching and research, contributing to the academic growth of our students and the advancement of knowledge in the field of medical technology. My responsibilities include delivering lectures, supervising practical sessions, and mentoring students as they navigate their academic journeys.
Throughout my tenure, I have witnessed significant developments in medical technology and its applications in healthcare. The rapid evolution of technology has transformed the landscape of medical education, and I strive to incorporate the latest advancements into my curriculum to ensure that our students are well-prepared for their future careers. I am committed to fostering a learning environment that encourages critical thinking, innovation, and a strong ethical foundation in the practice of medical technology.
In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I served as the Head of the Physiotherapy Department from 2003 to 2014. In this leadership role, I was responsible for overseeing the department's operations, developing academic programs, and ensuring that our offerings met the highest standards of quality. This position allowed me to collaborate with colleagues to enhance the educational experience for our students, implement new teaching methodologies, and promote research initiatives within the department.
During my time as department head, I focused on building strong relationships with local healthcare facilities to provide our students with practical training opportunities. This collaboration not only benefitted our students but also strengthened the ties between our academic institution and the healthcare community.
As I continue my journey at the University of Tripoli, I remain dedicated to advancing the field of medical technology through education and research. I look forward to further contributing to the development of future healthcare professionals who will make a positive impact in their communities.
Careers
He served as the Head of the Physiotherapy Department at the Faculty of Medical Technology, where he played a significant role in developing the department and enhancing its academic and administrative efficiency. Additionally, he held the position of Acting Dean of the Faculty for two terms, successfully leading the faculty with a focus on improving the quality of education and fostering an academic environment.
Research Interests
Research interests focus on the field of orthopedic diseases and sports injuries, including the prevention, diagnosis, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal disorders. Particular attention is given to exploring advanced physiotherapy techniques, injury management strategies, and the development of effective rehabilitation programs aimed at enhancing recovery and improving athletic performance.
External Activities
He has been serving as a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medical Technology, University of Tripoli, since 2002, contributing to the advancement of education and scientific research in his field. He is also a member of the Secretariat of the Arab Federation of Physiotherapy since 2006, which is headquartered in Beirut, Lebanon, enhancing his regional role in supporting and developing the physiotherapy profession.
In addition, he is one of the founders and a member of the Association of Arab Faculties and Institutes of Physiotherapy, affiliated with the Arab League and based in Beirut, Lebanon, where he actively participates in strengthening academic collaboration among Arab institutions. On a local level, he has been serving as the President of the Libyan Physiotherapy Association since 2006, headquartered in Tripoli, Libya, working to support and advance the physiotherapy profession within the country.
He has also held the position of Head of the Physiotherapy Department at the Faculty of Medical Technology, University of Tripoli, since 2003, playing a pivotal role in developing and updating curricula in line with international standards. Moreover, he chaired the Committee for the Preparation of Physiotherapy Curricula for Higher Institutes of Medical Professions in Libya, by assignment from the former General Committee for Manpower, Training, and Employment, in collaboration with UNESCO, reflecting his significant contribution to the development of medical education in Libya.
In the context of his interest in cultural relations, he was one of the founders of the Libyan-Bulgarian Friendship Association and the Libyan-Bulgarian Cultural Center in 1988 in Sofia, Bulgaria, contributing to the strengthening of cultural exchange between the two countries.
