I started working as a teaching assistant in the Physiotherpay Department at the Faculty of Medical Technology, teaching the subject of internal medicine 15 years ago (2010). Currently, I work as a lecturer in the department, with my responsibilities within the college and department focused on the following tasks:

Teaching Internal Medicine:

  • Preparing and organizing lectures for the internal medicine course.
  • Explaining fundamental concepts related to internal diseases and how they affect patient health, tailored to the needs of physiotherapists.
  • Providing comprehensive information on chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart diseases, and the importance of physical therapy in treating these conditions.

Preparing Curricula and Study Materials:

  • Designing lesson content in line with the university’s approved curriculum and the needs of physiotherapists.
  • Preparing worksheets, presentations, and other educational resources.
  • Updating educational content to align with the latest medical research and advancements in internal medicine and physiotherapy.

Preparing and Administering Exams:

  • Designing exam questions to assess both theoretical and practical understanding of the subject.
  • Grading exams and providing feedback and explanations to help students improve their academic performance.

Interacting with Students:

  • Organizing office hours to address students' inquiries and help them understand the material.
  • Providing academic support to students who need additional assistance.
  • Guiding students toward research and scientific articles that enhance their knowledge of the subject.

Conducting Academic Research:

  • Participating in scientific research related to physiotherapy in internal diseases.
  • Writing articles or publishing research in specialized medical journals.

Engaging in Academic and Professional Activities:

  • Attending medical conferences or workshops related to physical therapy and internal medicine.
  • Conducting workshops or seminars for students or fellow faculty members.

Continuous Evaluation and Curriculum Development:

  • Collecting student feedback on the course and teaching process.
  • Using this feedback to improve the quality of education and refine teaching methods.

Supervising Student Training:

  • Supervising students in practical training related to physiotherapy.
  • Ensuring that students gain the necessary practical experience to treat patients in internal medicine cases.

  • Offering academic advice and career guidance to students regarding their academic and professional paths in physiotherapy.

Careers

Following my graduation from the Medical School at Tripoli University, I moved to London, UK, where I enrolled in a Postgraduate Diploma in Internal Medicine at Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial College, University of London, from September 2001 to July 2002. Afterward, I further specialized by obtaining a Master's degree and Diploma in Cardiology from the National Heart and Lung Institute (NHLI) and Royal Brompton Hospital, both affiliated with Imperial College, London, and the University of London, between September 2002 and November 2003.

From 2004 to 2006, I worked as a Clinical Research Fellow at Imperial College, Royal Brompton Hospital. During this period, I also organized Advanced Life Support courses in Tripoli at the Academy of Graduate Studies, Libya, in cooperation with the Resuscitation Council UK (RC-UK) and the European Resuscitation Council (ERC).

In April 2010, I began serving as an Assistant Lecturer in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics at the Department of Physiotherapy, Faculty of Medical Technology, Tripoli University. In 2015, I was sponsored by my university to continue my postgraduate studies in Germany. In August 2023, I received the Specialist in Internal Medicine Certificate from the Berlin Medical Council, which was recognized as equivalent to a PhD and the Libyan Board certificate in Libya. Following this, I began working as a Specialist in Internal Medicine and as a lecturer in the Physiotherapy Department at the College of Medical Technology, Tripoli University.

Research Interests

The research interests focused on in these studies are diverse and cover the following medical fields, Use of Dobutamine Stress Echocardiography in Assessing Segmental and Overall Ventricular Function in Type II Diabetic Patients . another field of interetsr is using of Anticoagulants in the Treatment of Elderly Patients with Atrial Fibrillation.furthermore concentrate in Advantages and Disadvantages of Using Low-Dose CT Scan in Lung Cancer Screening.These research interests are vital due to their significant impact on the diagnosis and treatment of heart and lung diseases, particularly in populations at higher risk of complications, such as diabetic patients and the elderly.

External Activities

Some of the activities outside the university include providing medical consultations to doctors and healthcare institutions, participating in medical committees and public health organizations, and delivering lectures and workshops at medical conferences. Additionally contribute to continuing medical education programs and offer consultations on the development of healthcare programs for the elderly to enhance their quality of life.
