Roles

I previously worked as a Teaching Assistant in the Physiotherapy Department, where I delivered both theoretical and practical components of the Orthopaedic Physiotherapy course to fourth-year students (under the previous year-based system). I also contributed to the preparation and assessment of student examinations within my department, in addition to invigilating exams both within the department and across general faculties. Furthermore, I participated in numerous scientific conferences and academic events both within and outside the department.

I am currently supervising undergraduate graduation research projects and will be delivering the specialised modules.

Careers

I hold a PhD in Cardiovascular Science from the University of Liverpool, UK, and an MSc in Advanced Physiotherapy from the University of Salford, UK, alongside a BSc in Physiotherapy from the University of Tripoli.

Throughout my academic journey, I have been committed to developing my professional and research skills through a range of specialised training and certifications, including venepuncture training, DXA scanning certification, Research Integrity training (92%), Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and a certificate in Children’s Human Rights from the University of Geneva. I also obtained an instructor certificate in Health Qigong Ba Duan Jin.

Professionally, I have worked as a Research Assistant at Liverpool John Moores University and previously as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Tripoli. I have also gained extensive clinical experience as a Physiotherapist at Tripoli Central Hospital, where I worked across multiple specialised units.

Research Interests

I have developed strong research expertise, contributing to and publishing several scientific studies, including a systematic review and meta-analysis on the effects of different types of exercise on quality of life in patients with atrial fibrillation, published in a peer-reviewed journal. I am currently involved in ongoing research in cardiac rehabilitation, nutrition, and exercise. I have presented my work at various scientific conferences through posters and research presentations, including at the British Cardiovascular Society conference, as well as participating in several local and international academic events since my undergraduate studies.

- My research interests focus on cardiac rehabilitation, health-related quality of life, and multidisciplinary research that enriches both academic knowledge and practical application within the university setting.

- I am also particularly interested in community-based research that contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

External Activities

- I serve as a Peer Reviewer for the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology, a leading international journal with a high impact factor that focuses on advancing research in cardiovascular prevention and public health. In this role, I critically evaluate submitted manuscripts in terms of methodological quality, statistical analysis, and the significance of findings, while providing constructive feedback to support high-quality scientific publication. This role reflects my active contribution to the international academic community.

      - I also continue to collaborate with the University of Liverpool and Liverpool John Moores University on ongoing research and publication activities.
