Roles
During my tenure as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Tripoli, Libya, I undertook a wide range of academic and administrative responsibilities that contributed to supporting the educational process and maintaining an organized and effective learning environment. One of my primary duties was assisting faculty members in preparing lectures by organizing course materials, preparing instructional content, developing presentation slides, and arranging the necessary teaching resources to ensure that lectures were delivered in a clear and well-structured manner.
I also participated in supervising students during lectures and examinations. My responsibilities included invigilating examinations to ensure compliance with university regulations and to uphold academic integrity. In addition, I responded to students' inquiries regarding course content and provided academic guidance to help them better understand the material and improve their learning outcomes.
Another important aspect of my role involved carrying out various administrative and office-related tasks, including organizing academic records, preparing official correspondence, maintaining and archiving documents, coordinating lecture and examination schedules, and assisting in the organization of departmental meetings and academic activities.
Furthermore, I was responsible for recording and maintaining students' grades accurately in the university's grading system, reviewing grade records, verifying the accuracy of assessment data before final submission, and ensuring the confidentiality of all academic information while adhering to university policies and procedures.
In addition to these responsibilities, I monitored student attendance, assisted in organizing examinations, and coordinated communication between faculty members and the department administration regarding various academic matters. These duties enabled me to strengthen my organizational, communication, teamwork, and time management skills while developing a high level of accuracy, professionalism, and responsibility in an academic environment.
Overall, my experience as a Teaching Assistant provided me with valuable academic, administrative, and organizational expertise, allowing me to contribute effectively to the quality of higher education while supporting both faculty members and students in achieving the department's educational objectives.
Careers
I began my academic career as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Tripoli, where I served from 2013 to 2018, contributing to teaching, academic support, and departmental administrative responsibilities. In 2018, I was awarded a scholarship to pursue postgraduate studies in Malaysia, where I completed a Master's degree in Physiotherapy with a specialization in Neurological Physiotherapy. In 2026, my academic appointment was officially promoted to Faculty Member at the University of Tripoli, enabling me to continue my academic career through teaching, research, and service to the university.
Research Interests
My research interests focus on the field of physical therapy, with a particular emphasis on neurological physical therapy and neurorehabilitation. My research encompasses the rehabilitation of individuals with stroke and multiple sclerosis, with a focus on developing and evaluating therapeutic interventions aimed at improving motor function, balance, functional independence, and quality of life through evidence-based practice. I am also interested in investigating the effectiveness of emerging rehabilitation techniques and innovative therapeutic approaches to enhance clinical outcomes and advance evidence-based neurological rehabilitation.
External Activities
Outside the university, I actively engage in volunteer work through the Libyan Physical Therapy Association. In this role, I have contributed to the organization of several scientific and professional events and conferences. I have also served as the Chair of the Organizing Committee for multiple conferences and events, where I was responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing organizational activities to ensure the successful delivery of each event. These experiences have strengthened my leadership, organizational, and teamwork skills while enhancing my commitment to the advancement of the physical therapy profession and the academic community.
