Roles

I have worked for 19 years in the field of radiation, where the first 9 years of my professional career were in the Department of Nuclear Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering as an engineer in the department’s laboratories in the field of radiation measurements and the field of energy. I obtained a master’s degree in the field of medical radiation physics in 2003, and in 2016 I moved to work in the Libyan Atomic Energy Corporation. As head of the Environmental Radiation Measurements and Radiation Surveys Department, I received advanced training in radiation measurements and participated in a research paper at the Arab Energy Authority in 2024 held in Jordan. I collaborated with the Diagnostic and Therapeutic Radiology Department at the College of Information Technology and taught subjects such as radiation control, radiation physics, radioisotope therapy, and radioisotope imaging, and supervised projects for undergraduate students in the department.

Careers

Before joining the university as a faculty member, I worked as a laboratory engineer in the Department of Nuclear Engineering at the College of Engineering and worked as the head of the Environmental Measurements and Radiation Permits Department at the Radiation Measurements and Training Center of the Libyan Atomic Energy Corporation. She participated in numerous conferences, seminars and scientific workshops on radiation and collaborated with the Department of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Radiology at the College of Medical Technology in teaching the department’s courses and supervising students in projects.

Research Interests

Research interest in the field of radiation measurements in the environment, calculating background radiation, calculating radiation doses in the medical field, and measuring the level of radiation in consumer goods.

External Activities

Cooperating with the Atomic Energy Agency in radiation measurements and training radiation workers on the radiation protection protocol.
