Roles

Among the tasks assigned to him in the department is the practical and theoretical teaching of topics related to analytical chemistry, instrumental and pharmaceutical analysis in collaboration with the rest of the colleagues in the department. He also supervises graduation projects, suggests research titles and follows up on students until the projects are discussed. He also conducts some research in the research unit in the department and writes and publishes this research in specialized scientific journals.

Careers

He moved to work at the Faculty of Pharmacy in 1991 as an assistant lecturer, and was promoted through the teaching staff until he reached the rank of professor in the specialty of pharmaceutical analysis. He was assigned to head the Department of Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry on two occasions from 2008 to 2012. He was also assigned in 2012 as an office manager and delegate of the Faculty of Pharmacy to the Faculty Affairs Committee at the University of Tripoli. He worked as a visiting professor to teach some topics related to pharmaceutical analysis in the Faculties of Pharmacy in Misurata, Benghazi and Jabal Al Akhdar. He supervised some master's theses at the University of Misurata and the Libyan Academy.

Research Interests

Most of the research was related to the evaluation and analysis of metals in biological and non-biological samples.

External Activities

Prof. Dr. Tariq now works as a consultant and board member in several companies including Al-Mog Mineral Oils Manufacturing Company, Al-Baidag Oil Services Company, Marine Company for Importing Auto Spare Parts, Hassad Al-Watan Company for Agricultural and Animal Investment, and Modern Biotechnology Company.
