Roles

Muftah Shushni is one of the staff members at the department of Pharmacognosy,faculty of Pharmacy, where he was an Assistant Professor in 2014, an associated Professor in 2018 and Professor in 2022. He has several puplications in the field of his interest. He also assumed the duties of Head of the Department of Pharmacognosy and the Director of the Graduate Studies Office at the College. Also a member of the college's scientific committee.

 1993-1998 Study of Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Garyounis, Benghazi, Libya. With general grade “Very Good”.

 2000-2003 Supervising and teaching practical courses in pharmacognosy and phytochemistry for first and second year students at the Department of Pharmacognosy, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Garyounis, Libya.

 2003-2004  Study of German Language and DSH Examination , Goethe Institute, Mannheim, Germany

 2004-2005 The Course of Study Greifswald Graduate School of Science (GGSS) for obtaining the degree of Doctor of Natural Sciences (Doctor rerum naturalium – Dr. rer.nat.), Institute of Pharmacy, Ernst-Moritz-University, Greifswald, Germany.

 2005-2009  PhD Student, preparation of the thesis (Isolation, structure elucidation and pharmacological investigation of bioactive secondary metabolites from in vitro cultivated marine fungi), Institute of Pharmacy, EMA-University, Greifswald, Germany. (supervisor Frau Prof. Dr. U. Lindequist)
