Teaching courses according to the academic plan of the department, and evaluating student performance through exams, assignments, and projects. Conducting scientific research and publishing in peer-reviewed journals, participating in scientific conferences and workshops, supervising student graduation projects, and contributing to the college and department activities such as organizing scientific events and activities.

Careers

After graduating from the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Tripoli and working as a teaching assistant in the Department of Pharmacognosy and Natural Products in 1996, I collaborated Part-time with the National Pharmaceutical Company. Upon obtaining my Ph.D. in 2009, I worked as a lecturer in the same department. In 2010, I was assigned the consultant role at the Center of Medical Research. In 2012, I was tasked with the responsibilities of the registrar of the Faculty of Pharmacy. I was promoted to the rank of Assistant Professor in 2013

Research Interests

My research interest is studying medicinal plants and extracting and isolation of active compounds from plants, fungi, and marine organisms. Utilizing various techniques for pure compound separation. Determining and elucidation of chemical structure of compounds, studying the therapeutic properties of plants, and evaluating the pharmacological efficacy and toxicity of natural compounds. Investigating the traditional uses of medicinal plants. Study the impact of environmental factors on the production of active compounds.

External Activities

Authoring or editing scientific papers in the field of pharmacognosy and natural products, writing articles or scientific reviews for specialized journals or websites, participating in the evaluation of research projects, serving as an external examiner for some Libyan universities, and collaborating with researchers and specialists from other universities in research and academic fields.
