Mohamed Elmelah is a professor of chemistry at the department of chemistry, faculty of science, UOT. He has been working as a Professor of chemistry since15-05-1984. He teaches several subjects in his major and has several publications in the field of his interest.

He supervised the graduation projects of (20) bachelor’s and (10) master’s students.

A faculty member in the Department of Chemistry since 1984. I taught most of the Chemistry courses in theoretical and practical inorganic chemistry, in addition to Inorganic and bioinorganic chemistry courses to masters level graduate students.

No doctorate progamme approved yet in the chemistry department othe UOT, Tripoli Libya.

• PH and Ion measurement with PHM25O (PH Ion meter, Ion selective electrodes),
• Titaral- 90 (installation, software Tim Talk – 9, development of titration methods).

• FT- IR training at Brucker Analytik GMBH factory in Rheinstetten Germany including hardware ,soft ware, service techniques and application.

• Argon Laser Training at LIS Laser und Elektronik Service GMIBH in Jena Germany. The training included installation operation and service.
• 5)- May 1998:-
• LSF Laser fluorescence spectrometer composed of MSG–800 Nitrogen Laser, IJDL – 200, Dye Laser, UJL- 300 Dye Laser, and SHG unit (frequency doubler) at the LTB Laser technik Berlin GMBH in Berlin Germany.

Research Interests

Inorganic and the Environmental and bioinorganic chemistry are the main scientific interests of Prof. M. A. Elmelah.

Professor M. A. Elmelah has been an active chemistry lecturer and researcher. He has advised under graduate research project and MSc thesis and published research papers in scientific journals and conferences.

Prof. elmelah had the honor to be the planer and the president of "THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL CONFERENCE" held in SABHA - Libya and "THE FIRST BASIC SCIENCES CONFERENCE" held in Tripoli Libya. He was a member of the organizing committee of the first work shop on "Using Arabic Language in Higher education"

During his 39 years of being a professor of chemistry , Prof. M. A. Elmelah has shared his Academic and educational experience with public and governmental scientific and educational institutions, through giving lectures, scientific and Academic projects, setting up, management and operation of scientific Laboratories and management of chemicals facilities.
